Office building owner on Palm Beach’s Banker’s Row files Chapter 11

5/27/2015 - The owner of a pair of office buildings on Palm Beach’s pricey Banker’s Row filed Chapter 11 reorganization to halt a foreclosure auction. General Electric Capital Corp. previously won an $11 million foreclosure judgment against FJK Properties and FJK III Properties over two mortgages for a combined $10.56 million. How Channel 8 weighs its anchors in the post-Sierens era

5/27/2015 - Although she’s not exactly replacing the retired Gayle Sierens, Jennifer Leigh’s news anchor schedule has gotten a whole lot busier. The 23-year veteran of WLFA News Channel 8, who has led the station’s 7 p.m. report for the last couple of years, is now paired with Keith Cate at 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. She’ll also co-anchor the 5:30 p.m. program with incoming talent Josh Benson, who arrives on June 29. And for good measure, she continues her solo act at 7 p.m. Last Thursday afternoon, Leigh…

The firm will be leaving its two other offices at 12124 High Tech Ave. and 12000 Research Parkway to move into the Challenger Tech Center IV, an 80,437-square-foot flex building, later…

Measuring up SeaWorld's new Mako coaster with Orlando's other high-flying rides

5/27/2015 - SeaWorld Orlando's new Mako roller coaster has quite the stats sheet. As of right now, the coaster — which opens in 2016 — will be the tallest, fastest and longest coaster in Central Florida. It touts a maximum speed of 73 mph, a 200-foot drop and more than 4,700 feet of track length. "Mako is a hyper coaster, which means it's all about air time, that weightless feeling you get when you come out of your seat," said Brian Morrow, corporate senior director of development and design at SeaWorld,…
